It's a Pre-Menopausal Tuesday
Okay Gals! You asked for it so here it is. The pre-menopausal blog sharing begins. I finally gave in and read the "Menopause for Dummies" book. And although I found it rather amusing that I even read this book at all, I also found it extremely helpful. It used terms that most anyone can understand and told you everything from symptoms, to what to expect, and things you should be tested for as you start this part of your life. So for today's blog, I will share with you just the basics of what I learned and maybe just do a blog a week about it so that any guy readers don't run away from my blog screaming with their eyes covered.
Signs That Menopause May Be Near
- Dry Skin or Hair
- Fuzzy Thinking (problems concentrating)
- Rapid Heart Beat (heart flutters)
- Hot Flashes
- Vaginal Dryness
- Urinary Problems (frequent or incontinence)
- Mood Swings
- Memory Lapses
- Irritability
- Irregular Periods
- Insomnia or Interrupted Sleep
- Night Sweats
On the upside, I found out that my migraines may also be caused from this. As your estrogen level drops, it can cause the headaches. Which could explain why it's worse during the week before and during. I will share more as time goes along. And if any of you have questions, feel free to ask and I will see if there isn't an answer for you somewhere in the book. There is a lot of information in the book for the size that it is. And if you suffer some of these symptoms, of course, they could be related to pre-menopause or other medical problems, such as a thyroid problem. So make sure to document your signs and check in with your doctor to make sure it's not something related to an underlying problem.
